Koji Fujita(Biography)
Koji Fujita received his B.Sc. degree from the Tohoku University in 2010 in aerospace engineering, and he got a Ph.D. at the Tohoku University under the supervision of Professor Hiroki Nagai. His research has focused on an airplane for Mars exploration. His thesis work involves the conceptual design of the Mars airplane and aerial deployment technique. He continued this research at Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency as a Research Fellowship for Young Scientists of Japan Society for the Promotion of Science. Now he is an assistant professor of the Institute of Fluid Science at Tohoku University. He started a joint research with co-authors to utilize dielectric elastomer actuators for his airplane for Mars exploration.

M. Shahria Alam(Biography)
Dr. Shahria Alam is an Associate Professor in the School of Engineering, and Chair of the Civil Engienering Program at The University of British Columbia’s Okanagan campus. He received his PhD in Civil Engineering from Western University in 2008. His research interests include smart materials and their structural applications in bridges and buildings; seismic isolation devices, seismic rehabilitation of structures; performance-based design; recycle/reuse of industrial wastes. Dr. Alam is the Chair of the Engineering Mechanics and Materials Division of Canadian Society for Civil Engineering (CSCE). He has published more than 200 peer reviewed articles. He is also the recipient of many national and international awards including CSCE Pratley Award 2015, and UBC Researcher of the Year Award 2018 and Moldovan Memorial Award 2014. He is currently serving as the Associate Editor of the Journal of Bridge Engineering, ASCE.

Dr. Nader Ghareeb has completed his PhD in April 2013 from the RWTH Aachen University of Technology in Aachen, Germany. He is now working as an assistant professor in the mechanical engineering department at the Australian College of Kuwait (ACK). His research interest includes modelling and active control of smart structures, multi-body simulation and blast simulation.

Angelica Chiodoni has completed her M. Sc. in Material Science (Università degli studi di Torino) in 2001 and her PhD in Physics in 2005 (Politecnico di Torino). At present she coordinates the Electron Microscopy facilities and laboratories of Centre for Sustainable Future Technologies - Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia. She also coordinates a scientific activity addressed to photo-electro heterogeneous catalysis of CO2 reduction into valuable fuels and chemicals.

Yongmei Zheng, PhD, is a professor at School of Chemistry, Beihang University. Research interests are focused on bioinspired surfaces with gradient micro- and nanostructures to control dynamic wettability, and develop the surfaces with characteristics of water repellency, anti-icing, or fog-harvesting, tiny droplet transport, and so on. Publications are more than 100 SCI papers included in Nature, Adv. Mater., etc., with 12 Cover stories, and a book “bioinspired wettability surfaces: Development in micro- and nanostructures†by Pan Standard Publishing, USA. Her work was highlight as scientist on News of Royal Society of Chemistry, ChemistryWorld in 2014. She is a member of Chinese Composite Materials Society (CSCM), American Chemistry Society (ACS), International Society of Bionic Engineering (ISBE), and International Association of Advanced Materials (IAAM). Eri Yoshida has completed her Ph.D. from Tokyo Institute of Technology. She joined Kyoto Institute of Technology as an assistant professor. She was also a visiting scientist at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is an associate professor of Toyohashi University of Technology. She has more than 100 peer-reviewed scientific publications and over 20 patents. She has been serving as an editorial board member of several international journals. Her research interests include molecular self-assembly of amphiphilic block copolymers, controlled/living radical polymerization, molecular design of functional polymers, and polymer syntheses using supercritical carbon dioxide. The study in this paper concerns the molecular self-assembly of amphiphilic diblock copolymers prepared by the photo nitroxide-mediated controlled/living radical polymerization technique recently established by her research group.

Dr. Osman Adiguzel graduated from Department of Physics, Ankara University, Turkey in 1974 and received a PhD- degree from Dicle University, Diyarbakir-Turkey. He studied at Surrey University, Guildford, UK, as a post doctoral research scientist in 1986-1987, and his studies focused on shape memory alloys. He worked as a research assistant, 1975-80, at Dicle University and shifted to Firat University in 1980. He became a professor in 1996, and he has already been working as professor. He published over 50 papers in international and national journals; He joined over 100 conferences and symposia in international and national level as a participant, invited speaker or keynote speaker with contributions. He served the program chair or conference chair/co-chair in some of these activities. Dr. Chiba was supervising advanced R&D programs including Japanese Government projects. Now, he is CEO & professor, Chiba Science Institute. He has published more than 367 papers in the various areas and has been serving as editorial board members of AWMC, Industrial Engineering & Management, Industrial Engineering & Management, Steel Structures & Construction, and Journal of Material Science. He has a Ph.D. in Metallurgy & Material Science from the University of Wales (Britain).
